Job Title: Quantity Surveyor – Construction Projects
Department: Guardians Project Management Unit

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join the Guardians Project Management Unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates, managing progress tracking, handling Interim Payment Applications (IPA), and drafting/responding to contractual correspondence for our construction projects using Cirrus PMS. This role is crucial to ensuring that project financials and contractual matters are managed effectively and transparently.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and budget forecasts for construction projects.

  • Monitor project costs and prepare cost control reports to ensure adherence to budgets.

  • Coordinate and track work progress on-site and report on variances against project timelines and budgets.

  • Prepare, review, and submit Interim Payment Applications (IPA) to clients and follow up on approvals and payments.

  • Assist in managing all contractual documentation and ensure compliance with relevant contract terms.

  • Draft and respond to contractual letters, claims, and notices in coordination with the project management and legal teams.

  • Conduct site visits for quantity verification, progress updates, and cost monitoring.

  • Support procurement by evaluating and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotes.

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams for all cost and contractual matters.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records and documentation.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.

  • Proficiency in cost estimating software and MS Excel.

  • Strong understanding of FIDIC or other standard forms of contract.

  • Excellent knowledge of contractual procedures and claim management.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
